Will the Chinese takeover of the Panama Canal Zone lead to a new "Cuban missile crisis"?

While participating in the TWA 800 accident investigation, Major Christina Johansson, an Air Force pilot and electronics expert, discovers an FBI cover-up of an airline sabotage years in the past. A DC-10 crashed at Cedar Rapids airport, officially due to a mechanical failure, but the accident report was falsified. Chris shares the information with fellow pilot, Zach Conroy, whose parents were killed in the disaster.

Armed with hard copies of FBI computer files, Zach and Chris find themselves in a position to expose the government cover-up. However, a high-level National Security classification makes them hesitant. While they pry the issue, drug syndicate boss, Nestor Avila, connected to the Colombian Medellin cartel, and FBI assistant director, George Draney, both set out to silence them.

In a setting of Southern California, mainly LAX, Manhattan Beach, San Diego and La Jolla, Zach and Chris pursue an exposure of the conspiracy while they become the unsuspecting prey of Avila's henchman, Rudy Vasquez, a former mercenary in the French Foreign Legion. The fast-paced events evolve out of the pilot duo's control and reach a teeth-grinding climax that puts their combined aviation expertise to a deadly test.

Through a stunning political twist revolving around China's takeover of the Panama Canal, Zach and Chris are faced with the crucial choice: expose the truth or jeopardize U.S. national security and world peace?
